IMPAECT research fellow publishes on food security in Tonga

Early last week, the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) as well as the Pacific Islands Society and the Emerging Science and Technology Policy Centre announced the publishing of Lora Vaioleti’s policy brief on Food Security in Tonga. This ideational piece presents recommendations for the definition and prioritisation of a cohesive plan for social resilience; a forward-looking plan that aligns with Pacific social realities

A 50 year road-map to food security is proposed at a household, village and national level, innovating a progressive plan for the articulation of existing social sharing systems with the controlled inclusion of bio-technically modified staple food crops through regional partnerships.
